My creative practice is ever-evolving, though it is always rooted in a deep appreciation for the earth and the joy of making. I find it deeply rewarding to work slowly with clay, taking the time to watch a piece take form through every detail. I gravitate toward the imperfect, adapting to the unexpected nature of clay throughout the process. I am drawn to the balance found in juxtaposition—rough and precise, delicate and organic.
Whether studying art from a century ago or thousands of years ago, I love to imagine the stories, hands, and moments of those who came before me and carry those influences into my work. Ultimately, I let the clay and the stories guide the process, never quite making the same thing twice.
